Taylor got his orders today and he’s going to Korea.  That was a bit of a shock.  I mean, we had no idea, and he could have gone anywhere, but Korea?  Wow!  I guess it’s only for a year, and then he says they are going to let him go to Italy, so I guess I would have taken that deal if I was him.

Somehow, Ceecee missed Taylor’s call yesterday.  It’s crazy.  She’s almost obsessed with not missing his call, so she keeps her phone pretty much glued to her, but somehow it happened.  He’s only allowed one phone call per week, so that was it.  He graduates from basic in 4 weeks and we’ll see him then.

Last night was rough on Ceecee. Taylor was allowed his first phone call and he didn’t sound good at all. I suppose going to a strange place where you don’t know anyone and you get yelled at constantly is quite a shock to everyone. That’s kind of the idea, I know. Anyway, she was pretty upset, but she talked to some of her family who are military and they assured her that it will be fine.

We found out today that Taylor will be shipping out for basic training on Tuesday. He goes to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. I can tell he’s nervous, but we really believe this will be good for him. He’s never been away from home, though.

Other than that, life is kind of slow right now. We’re looking forward to Christmas break from school. I’m still at Macy’s. It’s easy money and they don’t ask much of me, so I don’t’ mind staying on for now.

My daughter from western Kansas is here visiting. We haven’t gotten to spend much time together in the last several years, and this is really weird that she’s here right now while I’m trying to pursue Ceecee, but I need to focus on her some also. God told me to work things out with her, so I’m going to have to balance time with her and trying to fix my marriage.

We’re still having the heat wave, so triathlon training and helping Taylor get ready for the air force have been really tough. I take him out running and he’s been going to the gym with one of his friends. I’ve got a bike session with my group tonight and I’m not looking forward to it.

Ceecee took Taylor to meet with his recruiter and they’ve been talking about what he’ll need to do to qualify for the job he wants. He wants to be in special forces, so it will take some tough physical training. He’s been going to the gym with us and we’ve been taking him out to run. Ceecee is really stressed about him not having a job and the Air Force seeming like it could be quite some time before he gets accepted.
